| Bradman Lake Carton Erectors/Formers |

HS2/60 Lock Former

Forming Head
|
2/60 and HS 2/60 Lock carton erectors are thoroughly proven machines,
ruggedly built with simple mechanical operation. Large numbers of them
are in daily use around the world either forming trays or as part of
complete top load cartoning lines. Typical speeds for 2/60 up to 60 cartons per minute, and the speed
of HS 2/60 up to 80 cartons per minute with a single forming head,
depending on carton size. Machine can be fitted with double, triple and quadruple tooling to
provide higher carton forming speeds. A large carton size range. Machine side frames constructed from tubular and folded stainless
steel to provide rigid construction and high quality finish.
Typical speeds for 2/60G and HS2/60G up to 50 cartons per minute
with a single forming head depending on carton size. A large carton size range. Machine side frames constructed from folded stainless steel to
provide rigid construction and high quality finish. Factory set change parts ensure quick and trouble free carton size
changes. Cartons erected with hot melt glue using either glue applicator
fingers or hot melt glue firing system.
Bradman Lake understands that the carton erector is in many cases the
heart of the packaging line and that the equipment must function to
maximum efficiency at all times. Any carton which is not formed
correctly may have downstream loading and closing problems which
affect the overall lines performance. Bradman Lake has recognized this
issue due to many years of supplying erectors and formers, loaders and
closing systems to handle an exhaustive array of products to all
industry sectors. The high speed, servo driven Super HS/L and Super HS/G Carton/Tray
Erector with indirect blank feeding, erects a wide variety of folding
cartons made of solid or corrugated board. Standard Features: The Super HS/G Speeds up to 70 cartons per minute on a single head,
130 cartons per minute on a double head and 180 cartons per minute on
a triple head, depending on carton size. The Super HS/L Speeds up to 75 cartons per minute on a single head,
150 cartons per minute on a double head and 210 cartons per minute on
a triple head, depending on carton size. Movement transmission by synchronous motors and linear guides only. Each motion separately driven. Low maintenance. Solid framework and lower guards made of stainless steel. Upper guards made of polycarbonate with safety switches. Indirect blank feeding. The machine control system is easily accessed via a touch-screen. Quick change devices for magazine, tooling and plunger. Low mounted magazine, easy to fill. Motorized carton magazine. A wide range of optional features are available to enable the
machine to be readily adapted to meet the customer specific
requirements, eg. complete washdown specification. Machine operation: Flat carton blanks are stacked in a low-level carton hopper. Cartons
are extracted from the hopper by vacuum cups mounted on reciprocating
bar fed by either Venturi vacuum source or an optional electric vacuum
pump. The carton blanks are placed on a lugged conveyor and shuttled
forward. Simultaneously a plunger descends and pushes the carton blank
down through the tooling, which automatically engages and locks or
glues the 4 corners of the carton base. The carton is then ejected
down onto a carton takeaway conveyor system(quoted separately as an
optional feature).

| Bradman Lake Robotic Case Packer |

AX Case Packer
|
With engineering and project management that really
understands the challenges of today's packaging industry, the
Bradman Lake Group is synonymous with providing innovative
solutions. With many decades of experience and thousands of
installations to our credit, whether your requirement is a single
machine or a totally integrated system, Bradman Lake is the
ideal partner for your next project. This is a new and innovative modular Case Packer that will
erect and seal RSC (FEFCO 0201) and HSC (FEFCO 0200)
cases with tape (hot melt adhesive option available) at speeds
up to 12 cases per minute. It has a very compact footprint and
is ideal for limited floor space applications. Cartons are fed into
the machine on a belt infeed conveyor and picked up by a
vacuum head controlled by the robot which places them into
the open case. Cases (flat) are positioned vertically on the case
magazine and transferred off the magazine into the machine
and opened by vacuum. Once the case is fully erected with top
flaps all held open, the bottom short flaps are folded and
closed so cartons can be loaded into the open topped case.

| Autowrappers Automatic Storage Systems |

Verso-stor buffer storage system
|
The Verso Stor Buffer Storage System can be incorporated into any
Bradman Lake Group feeding system. The Verso Stor is particular interesting to customers seeking an
application that offers far greater flexibility and process flow
protection than a simple storage and re-feed belt could.
The Verso-Stor has all the features you expect from Bradman Lake
Group: rugged design, a host of infeed / outfeed options, servo
drives as standard and the latest Allen Bradley controls.
The construction of the Verso-Stor allows it to be specifically
designed to fit neatly into the space available. Stored products can
be re-fed as 'first in - first out' or 'last in first out' depending
upon application. The Verso-Stor is not just a bulk storage unit;it
bridges short term down time during production and can 'smooth out'
surges due to nature of the production process. Standard Features Inline feed. 90 degree discharge. Either "first in last out' or 'first in first out'. Row conditioning. Quick release gondolas to suit customer product. Allen Bradley device net field bus technology. Allen Bradley Kinetix 6000 servo drive and motor package. Servo driven product discharge and main drives. Allen Bradley PLC control unit. Allen Bradley control with PanelView Plus operator
interface. RHS frame structure. Guarded to the latest BS standard. Adjustable machine feet. Robust construction. A wide range of optional features is available to enable the machine
to be readily adapted to meet the customer's specific requirements.
In its simplest form, the product storage unit comprises a conveyor
which is mounted on the end of the ADS following the final transfer
station. Rows of products not accepted by the system pass onto the conveyor,
which indexes forward every time a row is presented thus
accumulating products which may then be manually or automatically
transferred to plaques as required. The automatic re-feed system is available in two versions
corresponding to the type of ADS being used. In high speed
applications, the final ADS station has a second pivoting conveyor
as part of the storage conveyor. The system software detects when
there are spaces in the presentation of rows of products to the
final station. On a signal, the storage conveyor reverses and
indexes a row onto the return pivot conveyor which inclines and
accelerates that row up to a holding station in readiness for
transfer by an overhead paddle onto the distribution conveyor. If
there is sufficient space in the main feed of products to the final
wrapping station, the re-feed unit will operate until the storage
conveyor has been emptied. Alternatively, rows are re-introduced as
and when sufficient space is available. For low speed applications, rows, one at a time, are reversed back
under the distribution conveyor onto the pivoting conveyor which
then inclines and accelerates the rows forward onto the distribution
conveyor in the normal manner. Rows of products can only be accepted
when there are breaks in the normal production running.

| Feeding Systems |

Product Orientation Feeder
|
The Inline Phase Feeder Unit is able to offer up to 1200 pieces of
regular and irregular product per minute. Of modular construction, the ILPF is designed to be easily
integrated into fully automatic feeding and distribution systems
such as the Automatic Distribution System or Product Orientation
Feeder. It can handle regular or irregular products, such as count-lines and
biscuits, with the flexibility to run trayed products, cakes and
frozen items. The system accepts a single stream of products, generally narrow
dimension leading, and creates a short, monitored, queue from which
they are phased into the infeed flights of the wrapping machine. For
products presented wide edge leading an incline bar turning unit can
also be incorporated.
The Product Orientation Feeder can be supplied in a number of
different widths and lengths while the number of base and side belts
can be changed to suit your particular needs. Product can be accepted in orderly rows as well as randomly
distributed on a conveyor. It is then configured into a single
stream, narrow edge leading. The Product Orientation Feeder offers a highly efficient and well
proven feed system suitable for any installation be it a single
machine or as part of a fully automated and sophisticated operation. It is designed to handle most chocolate, biscuit and bakery products
whether they are delivered in regimented rows or at random. It is
particularly suited to handling small bite size bars, pralines and
products, which are difficult to queue, such as lollipops. Speeds of up to 850 pieces per minute can be handled depending on
length.
The Shuttle Phase Feeder offered by the Bradman Lake Group
eliminates most pressure on the product queue, presenting a
consistent product line to increase your process flow stability. The Shuttle Phase Feeder is a version of the Inline Phase Feeder and
performs a similar function, which is to smoothly transfer product
into the flow wrapping machine's inline infeed. This version is used
where it is desirable to eliminate or reduce the risk of contact
between the products to be wrapped. To achieve this the shuttle
creates and controls a pressureless queue and balances the flow rate
to the flow wrapping machine.

|
| |
| Distribution System |

ADS
|
The Automatic Distribution System (ADS) features a height
adjustable, one-belt feeding process, which reduces belt and product
transfers by 50%, improving product handling and product protection
efficiency. The multiple belt width and length system has been developed to be
able to accommodate a wide range of product style and sizes which -
depending on your requirements - can be distributed to multiple
packaging station application. In addition, the ADS features Light Curtain Technology, which allows
the machinery to be more cost effective and less restrictive -
leading to a safer, technology focused application. An optional product storage and refeed unit can be included as part
of the line.

| Autowrappers Roll & Stick Wrapping Machinery |

Super 2000

A super 3000 machine with standard vibratory plate feeder and bulk hopper feed
|
This is the basic and most versatile roll wrapping machine in
Bradman Lake Group Autowrappers range and uses the long
standing principle of the rolling head belt wrapping principle.
Packs can be produced with either single overall wraps or overall
wraps with an outer label. In special cases an additional overall
wrap can be produced for extra protection. Pack ends can be
either point folded, with or without heat seal, or twisted ends.
The system employs a synchronos motor wrapping
material feed with a choice of three different glue sealing
methods. The maximum operating speed for the Super 2000 is
approximately 180 packs per minute.
The Super 2000S stick wrapping machine has been developed
from the Super 2000 roll wrapping machine especially for square
and rectangular products. The conventional rolling head belt is
replaced by a four pocket mould wheel system whilst the same
wrapping material feed system is retained. Sealing is by either
the same glue wheel and dabber system as used on the roll
wrapping machine or the use of a heat sealable wrapping
material and heat seal discharge. The maximum operating speed
for the Super 2000S is approximately 150 packs per minute.
A specialist machine designed to produce packs with twisted
ends for small diameter products at speeds up to 200 packs per
minute. A single reel of clear or random printed twist quality
wrapping material is fed inline producing a more compact
machine.
Super 4000
This machine employs the uprated rolling head belt principle
together with a powered wrapping material feed system and
stepper drive motor. Glue dispensing is by means of a
pressurized glue applicator. This allows wrapping speeds of up to
250 packs per minute to be achieved. When fitted with the
optional inspection and rejection system the machine is ideally
suited to direct linking to downstream secondary packaging
systems such as cartoning and multi-packing.

| Europack End Of Line Packaging Machinery - Film Wrapping Machines |

|
The most common type of machine in the Europack film wrapping
range today is the Tight Wrapper, which was introduced a few
years ago as a high efficiency form of shrinkwrapping. In conventional Shrink Wrappers the film is loosely applied
around the product and a large high energy shrink tunnel is
required in order to cause the film to shrink sufficiently to fit
the
product. In tight wrapping the film is applied to the product so
that it just fits without actually applying any tension. This is
achieved primarily by the geometry of the sealing jaw. As less
film is applied then less heat energy is required to shrink it.
This,
coupled with improvements in shrink tunnel design, has resulted
in smaller more efficient heat chambers. Europack offers a range
of Tight Wrappers varying from semi-automatic hand fed
machines through to fully automatic versions with a wide variety
of built in collators.
Models are available with side fed and in line configurations, and
with a number of different sealingjaw widths. Specification
sheets are available for a number of standard machines including
the Compact model aimed primarily at the pharmaceutical
industry, the RTSW standard side fed machine, the ITSW
standard in-line machine, and the TSW semi-automatic machine.
Most products are suitable for wrapping, but the most common
applications are in the food, beverages, pharmaceutical,
household, tobacco and pet food market sectors.
Europack have available two High Speed Shrink Wrappers, the
SR35 and the SR60, which have maximum speeds of 35 and 60
packs per minute respectively. These machines use a different
film application method and are the first Europack machines to
operate without any form of sealing jaw.
The film is taken from a single reel cut to length and then applied
around the product with an overlap underneath the pack. This
overlap is sealed as the pack passes through a heat tunnel.
Apart from the higher speeds, which are available, the absence
of a sealing jaw leads to lower maintenance. Also, the use of the
film, which is cut to length, facilitates the use of printed film
that
requires registration. This type of machine is normally supplied with appropriate
collating equipment and often works in conjunction with tray
packing equipment. Certain products can be wrapped
unsupported. Although suitable for a wide range of applications, the SR35 and
SRSO are most likely to be used for the wrapping of cans, jars or
bottles.
Europack has available a number of conventional Shrink
Wrappers which usually have sealing jaw widths in the range of
1- 3 metres. As with other wrapping machines, these can be
supplied either side fed or in-line configurations, and may well
include automatic collation or handling mechanisms.
This type of equipment is applied to the wrapping of many
diverse products such as furniture, doors, windows, insulation
and plasterboard, car bumpers, windscreens, etc.
Stretch wrappersEuropack pioneered the introduction of Stretch Wrappers in the
mid 1970's. Since then the company has built up considerable
expertise in this field.
This form of wrapper applies polythene film under tension around
the products, which are to be wrapped. The tension is variable
and can be set to a level that stretches the film thus providing
film cost savings. Sometimes the film, which is applied, is used to band together a
number of loose packs and the film is narrower than the packs
that are being wrapped. In this case there is no heat energy
used at all, thus making the machine very compact and
economical to use. Where over-wide film is used so that some
film shrinkage is required, then a low energy heat chamber is
included with the machine.
Stretch Wrappers are often supplied with the necessary
mechanisms to allow an envelope fold to be made on the ends of
the pack thus creating a total enclosure. Also possible is double
band wrapping where two film sleeves are applied at 90 degrees
to each other, thus totally closing the pack. Products, which can be stretch wrapped usually, need to have a
square shape and to have sufficient strength to withstand the
film tension. Alternatively, soft products, which can be
compressed, such as toilet tissues, can be suitable for stretch
wrapping.
Forming Box Shrink WrapperThis is another form of Shrink Wrapper, but one using a different
film application method. The packs, which are introduced on this
type of equipment, are totally enclosed and can, if necessary,
use high clarity polypropylene material, which gives a glossy
finish.
The wrapper uses a single reel of film, which after being taken
from the reel is formed into a tube round a forming box. The
product is pushed through the forming box and into the film tube.
A seal is made front and back on the pack thus providing total
enclosure. The heat tunnel is used to cause the film to shrink
tightly on the pack. This type of wrapping can be applied to most products but is
generally used only where a total enclosure is required.
