April 2008 Considering the Learning Needs of Older Learners – Design and Delivery Many PMMI Certified Trainers are not instructional designers or even full-time dedicated trainers, yet they are faced with challenging training issues each time they enter their customers' plants. One such challenge is how to address the learning needs of older trainees. Spotlight on Massman Automation Designs, LLC At Massman Automation Designs, LLC, the Villard, MN-based automated machinery designer and manufacturer, employee training experience and product knowledge were never lacking. What prompted the company to participate in PMMI’s Certified Trainer Program was a desire to streamline information—to ensure that the information in the manual matched the instruction given during training on the plant floor, which ultimately met the real-time production needs on the line. Certified Trainer Program is International You may know that PMMI members are currently doing business in many other countries outside of the U.S., but did you know that the PMMI Certified Trainer Certification has also been global for many years? Workshops have been conducted in Amsterdam, Germany, Singapore and China. Attendees have come from France, Spain, Italy, the U.K., Germany, Netherlands, Canada, China and Singapore.
