When questioning end-users about what they really want from an equipment vendor’s training, successful training “stories” came in number TWO on their list! Number one, of course, is a well-developed training plan including the course overviews with a detailed outline of topics (similar to a lesson plan outline) and a training proposal. We cover building an effective training plan thoroughly in class, but we really haven’t talked much about storytelling. The Key to Success? Train Your Own Replacement When you originally attended class to become a PMMI Certified Trainer, you absorbed a great deal of information and experience. It all contributed to making you a better trainer. Perhaps you recall a short discussion on identifying participants in your training classes who would make good internal trainers for your client companies. The discussion centered on how having the internal trainers would make your life easier, such as assisting you in the hands-on portions of the training, for example.
