December 2008 How to Retain More In a recent PMMI-sponsored Webinar, Karl Borgmann and Peter Loschnig explored a retention concept called, “Depth of Processing.” I’d like to share some of their practical tools that any of you can easily apply to your PMMI Certification Training techniques. Prevent More Accidents: Fundamental safety beliefs are changing. Simply removing an unsafe act or condition is not enough when it comes to accident prevention. While it helps to identify the symptoms of the accident, the root causes may remain, and eventually cause another accident or some other type of operational error. Small Step Leads to Big Four years ago, Bill Gabel, customer service manager for Kliklok-Woodman, took an exploratory first step for his company into the PMMI world of certification training. After that first small step, he and the company never looked back. Within three years, all of the company’s service technicians have become PMMI-certified trainers.
