U.S. Deptarment of Labor
Recognizes Importance of Mechatronics

The U.S. Department of Labor published a hybrid-industry, packaging-oriented mechatronics competency model that may be used by industry, government and education to provide guidance on the skills for a multi-skilled technician in a world-class packaging facility. PMMI worked closely with the Mid-Atlantic Mechatronics Advisory Council, the Industrial Maintenance Training Center of Pennsylvania, the Lancaster County Center of Excellence in Packaging Operations and a consortium of schools involved in packaging and/or mechatronics education to create this model.

Mechatronics Certificate Programs

PMMI has partnered with the Mid-Atlantic Mechatronic Advisory Council and several packaging and technical schools to develop a series of Certificate Programs focused on Mechatronics.

The proposed certificates are grouped in the four key areas identified as relevant to Mechatronics: mechanical, electrical, controls, computer science.

While PMMI U will conduct the skills assessment through testing, our education partners will provide the education students need to master the skills. This unique industry partnership will allow packaging professionals to earn a nationally recognized certificate, in your local community in a format that works best for your organization.
