What does your company specialize in?
Emerson Automation Solutions specializes in machine technologies. We supply pneumatic componentry and controls, machine controls, machine learning – pretty much everything that could happen within a full completed facility, drilling all the way down to individual packaging machines.
When did you get your start in the packaging and processing industry?
I got my start in packaging and food processing in the mid-to-late 1980s. I know I'm telling my age, but it's been a great ride. It's a fantastic industry. And I have been fortunate enough to excel and stay involved in this business my whole career.
What do you enjoy most with your involvement in PMMI?
I would have to say I really enjoy PMMI events, especially the Annual Meeting. They provide a lot of pertinent business information and we always have great keynote speakers. They're also a lot of fun. From a business perspective, being able to attend the Top to Top Summit as a board member is incredibly valuable for me and the organization.
What are you looking forward to most during the 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting?
I would say what I'm looking forward to at the 2020 Annual Virtual Meeting is the evolution we have seen from how business is going to be conducted moving forward. I think we all realize we're not going to be transported back to 2019 anytime soon. Business has gone to a virtual basis. We're all dealing with it and PMMI is no different. I think PMMI has done a really good job adapting so far.
