What does your company specialize in?
Ryson specializes in vertical conveying solutions, and today we are the number one manufacturer of spiraled conveyors in the United States.
How did you get your start in the packaging and processing industry?
I do not remember exactly when I started in packaging other than to say that I've been involved in packaging and materials handling for my entire career.
How did you get involved with PMMI?
I decided to become an active member of PMMI when I learned how great the organization is. They have a professional and very capable staff, and they are always willing to help. The active members are also great. It's amazing to me to see how willing they are to share information and how willing they are to help. My favorite PMMI events are the Executive Leadership Conference and the Annual Meetings, which always feature top-notch speakers.
What are some of your favorite PMMI offerings?
I personally enjoy the Shirt Sleeve sessions and the opportunities to network with all the other members – and I enjoy participating in the PMMI committee meetings. I have served on the Show Committee for many years, including two years as the committee chairman. Serving on the PMMI Board has been very rewarding. It has also been very stimulating to work with such an incredibly capable and caring group of people.
What are you looking forward to most at the 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting?
At the virtual Annual Meeting, I look forward to all the interesting business presentations. The presentation on the economy by Alan Beaulieu is on the top of my list. I also look forward to when we can all meet in person again.
