Nothing brings our industry together quite like PACK EXPO International and Healthcare Packaging EXPO, and this year will be no exception. For over six decades, this event is where packaging professionals connect to discover the solutions and technologies that advance their business.
With the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, PMMI and PACK EXPO have been utilizing our vast network of resources to support our members, trade show participants and the industry as a whole. As states in the U.S. and countries overseas begin to reopen, our focus right now is determining the optimum show format to support our exhibitors’ and attendees’ businesses - all while keeping everyone’s health and safety as our highest priority.
As of today, we are scheduled to have our show, which will take into account all current health guidelines necessary to create a safe and productive environment, complemented with a virtual element to maximize connections with attendees who prefer not to travel. Unfortunately, the lack of clarity in both the governor’s and mayor’s plans around when large events will be permitted in Chicago makes it impossible for us to be confident in what format our show will be delivered, but we can assure you that there will be a show, whether in-person with a virtual-option, or all-virtual.
The health and safety of everyone involved is our top priority, and will be the paramount factor in the final decision. PMMI will also assess, even if we do get the green light from the governor, if it is safe and makes sense to proceed under guidelines provided.
To date there are almost 2,000 suppliers ready to connect and share their latest solutions through PACK EXPO this fall. Connecting the industry has never been more important as our packaging innovations are addressing critical needs during this pandemic, and we will make sure that happens.
