10 Tips to Navigate Your First PACK EXPO

PACK EXPO Las Vegas (Sept. 11 – 13, 2023, Las Vegas Convention Center) is upon us, and it is an exciting and valuable experience for packaging and processing professionals everywhere. With over 2,300 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations and technologies in packaging and processing, as well as opportunities for networking and learning, it can feel slightly overwhelming at times. So to make the most of your time at PACK EXPO Las Vegas, we've compiled a list of essential tips to help you navigate your first PACK EXPO successfully.

  1. Plan Ahead by Using the Mobile App

Before heading to PACK EXPO Las Vegas, it's essential to have a plan in place. Research the exhibitors, sessions,  you want to attend, and add them to your show planner in the official Mobile App. The app will help you create a schedule that includes time for exploring the exhibit halls, attending specific sessions, and networking with industry professionals. Knowing your objectives will help you stay focused and make the most of your time at the trade show, and using the app will be like having a personal trade show assistant.

  1. Dress Professionally with Comfort in Mind

You'll be on your feet for long hours, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Business casual attire is a safe choice, but make sure you have shoes you can walk many miles in. There’s a lot of show floor to cover, so you’ll want to be ready to take it on.

  1. Let Exhibitors Scan Your Badge and Bring Plenty of Business Cards

Networking is a crucial aspect of trade shows. Bring a generous supply of business cards to exchange with fellow professionals, exhibitors, and potential contacts at networking events, but also let exhibitors scan your badge to make follow up easy.

  1. Attend the Young Professionals Networking Reception

The Emerging Leaders Committee is hosting a sold-out networking reception at TopGolf Las Vegas on Monday, Sept. 11 from 7 – 10 PM. This event is a great way to learn more about the industry, make connections, and kick back after a long day at the show.

  1. PACK Essentials

Make sure to pack essential items like a notepad, pen, charger for your devices, and a portable phone charger. You'll want to take notes during sessions, jot down contact information, and keep your devices charged throughout the day.

  1. Explore Exhibits

With over 2,300 exhibitors set to exhibit in Las Vegas, the exhibit halls can feel overwhelming. Take your time to explore the booths that align with your company’s goals and objectives. Don't be afraid to ask questions and engage with exhibitors – it's an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest industry trends and technologies.

  1. Attend Educational Sessions

PACK EXPO Las Vegas offers a wide range of educational sessions during that show that are free to attend. Visit the Sustainability Stage, The Forum, Industry Speaks and the Innovation Stages for a variety of engaging sessions showcasing breakthroughs in technology. Choose sessions that are relevant to your career goals and interests or are about topics you know the least about. These sessions can provide valuable insights and help you stay up-to-date with industry advancements and give your company a competitive edge.

Taking short breaks to recharge can help you stay focused and energized throughout the day.

  1. Follow Up

After the trade show, don't forget to follow up with the contacts you've made. Send personalized emails or messages to express your interest in continuing the conversation and building professional relationships.
