PMMI Matches Nordson Donation to Fight Breast Cancer

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies matched the funds raised by Nordson at PACK EXPO International and co-located Healthcare Packaging EXPO 2018 for their Nordson IMPACT charitable donation to the Breast Cancer Research Fund (BCRF).

PMMI matched Nordson’s $5,000 donation for a total of $10,000 donated to the BCRF between Nordson IMPACT and PMMI. An official check presentation took place on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Nordson booth. Between the Nordson and PPMI contributions, BCRF will be able to fund 200 hours of research.

“We are happy to support such a great cause,” says PMMI President and CEO Jim Pittas. “At some point, breast cancer touches everyone.”

“We are honored to partner with Nordson on such a critical cause,” says PMMI President and CEO Jim Pittas. “PMMI over the years always looks for ways to serve a cause that is bigger than the show, whether it be helping veteran groups, providing scholarships or supporting hurricane relief programs; we are proud of the support that our industry has and continues to provide to those in need.  At some point, breast cancer touches everyone, and we are proud to support such a great cause.”

Nordson has a 60-year tradition of giving back to the communities where its people live and work. Through its corporate social responsibility program, Nordson IMPACT, the company donates 5 percent of its U.S. pre-tax profits to support charitable endeavors throughout the world.

“Nordson encourages us to make a difference in our communities,” says J. Kismet Mikos, CTSM Gold, trade show manager, Nordson. “Breast Cancer Awareness is crucial as one in eight will be diagnosed with this horrible disease. In 1986 it was my best friend’s mother. This year it is a close friend and colleague. BCRF is searching for that cure! #BeTheEnd.”
