Section 301 Investigation into Brazil: In Brazil's trade letter, Trump noted that he would be instructing US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to initiate a Section 301 Investigation of Brazil citing "attacks on the digital trade activities of American companies" as well as other unfair trading practices. No further details were provided, but we will be monitoring to see if this is followed by an official announcement of a Section 301 Investigation. Section 301 allows USTR to investigate and take action against foreign countries that engage in unfair trade practices that burden or restrict US commerce.
