In preparation for EXPO PACK Guadalajara, this overview outlines the current trade environment between the United States and Mexico. On day 107 of Trump’s second term, there are already significantly more trade actions that are in effect proposed or under investigation than his first term, and many of these tariff actions are layered on top of each other (i.e., stackable). Trade negotiations have been dynamic and a primary area of focus for foreign countries to mitigate tariff impact, while various U.S. litigation cases/legislative actions are in the early stages, challenging the President’s authority to implement tariffs.
