2026 End User Sustainability Initiatives Impact on OEMs, published by PMMI – The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies in June 2026, examines how consumer, retailer, and regulatory sustainability pressures are cascading upstream to reshape OEM requirements, drawing on a March–April 2026 quantitative survey and follow-up qualitative interviews. The analysis indicates three interrelated focus areas—material transitions and equipment compatibility, regulatory fragmentation and EPR-driven market variability, and reporting/audit preparedness and data transparency—and generally shows a growing need for earlier OEM–CPG collaboration, modular upgrade paths, and embedded monitoring.
